Pretty Good PDF is built so your documents never need to leave your device.
Files stay on your device
PDF and image processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side libraries (pdf-lib and pdf.js). We do not operate upload endpoints for your documents in v1. When you download a result, the file is saved locally via your browser — it is not sent to our servers.
What we may collect
Optional privacy-friendly analytics (e.g. Plausible) may record anonymous pageviews if enabled. We never attach file contents or filenames to analytics or error reports.
Limitations
Browser memory limits apply. Very large PDFs may fail depending on your device. Encrypted PDFs may not open. Processing quality for compression is honest about trade-offs — we show real sizes after processing rather than fake estimates.
