Question 1

Is my PDF uploaded when I compress it?

Accepted Answer

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never sent to our servers.

Question 2

How do I get under 2 MB for a job application?

Accepted Answer

Choose Balanced or Maximum compression, set Size limit to Under 2 MB, then compress. We try progressively stronger settings until the target is met or we reach the best possible size.

Question 3

Why did my file barely shrink?

Accepted Answer

Text-only PDFs (exported from Word or Google Docs) often do not compress much. The tool works best on scanned documents and image-heavy files.
